Marie is an character from HorrorVale, she is a ghostly marionette and the mother of Eva Ghost.
Etymology[]
Marie is a common French name, it's the French cognate of Mary which originates from the Hebrew name of Miryām, a name of debated meaning. Many believe it to mean "sea of bitterness" or "sea of sorrow." However, some sources cite the alternative definitions of "rebellion," "wished-for child," and "mistress or lady of the sea."

Design[]
A marionette ghost, Marie has black eyes with red irises and long white hair. She has inverted cross markings on her cheeks and an inverted five-pointed star on her forehead. She wears a long black dress with white stripes down the arms and tendrils at the bottom. She also is holding a long and tall cigarette black cigarette holder.
Gameplay[]
Marie stands in front of an Inn in Northern HorrorVale (Likely her job) where she warns the party about how dangerous the night is becoming. Friendly NPC.

- Marie was in the running for the second Make Your Monster Contest, but she was added to the game via a Patreon donor.
